ethereal butter
spreads smooth
over the ledge
calling out . moving in
leaning on the low clouds
drifting
a strikingly subtle phase
just before dark
origin turns a face
to the wind

my eyes are as sharp as they used to be the old fool muttered
i havent lost much twinkle, poking the fire patch
this is the pilgrims way of cooking chicken he said,
bespectacled, stirring the pot
at least the revolution was exotic, in a chilly way
if only we sipped chardonnay bliss
fully instead of sharing soup
it takes years to describe them, from the denizens
of the night, citizens, warriors, the occasional intriguing tapdancer
but this one you were my teacher,
the laughing one, the happy hotai
in the fashion of green disney demons
with golden intentions
amplified through a sheeps horn
tiny piglet giggle

Ethereal butter. I can't stop thinking about that image - the colour and texture of it. WOW.
Your lullaby is so soothing. Makes me feel relaxed and peaceful.
I like to think of ends being unravelled, clipping seems so final.

and clipping, like trimming the tall weeds, has it's place, but endings can move more organically, because they are always partial. there's always another story. the leaves fall, they come back again. so it really does in fact unravel like that in nature and i like that very much
as is so often the case, Kathi, your words and music embody something recognisable within myself that i would otherwise have been unable to find the words for. thank you.
i'm so glad bird, i'm curious too as 2 where/how the pieces fit, or overlap 4 u. cuz, it is an intuitive exercise largely, not to say great by itself but woven in process. i'm so glad you got something from it all
Very evocative two pieces and with the music - lovely. I love that time of day before dark, but hard to explain - you have done just that.

Like Selma, the image of ethereal butter just stopped me in my tracks... so wonderfully original! Loved both pieces t and the music just drew them closer together.
